Storyboard Artist

Remote / Senior

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Storyboard Artist in 2D animation productions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, including scene organization, timing, camera movements, and export workflows for production pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of cinematic language, shot composition, framing, visual continuity, and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to interpret scripts and translate them into clear, dynamic, and emotionally engaging visual narratives.
  • Excellent drawing skills, including anatomy, character acting, facial expressions, and body language.
  • Solid knowledge of the fundamental principles of animation, staging, and visual pacing.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside directors, writers, animators, and cross-functional creative teams.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple revisions and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to receive, interpret, and implement feedback quickly and efficiently.
  • An up-to-date portfolio demonstrating strong visual storytelling, cinematic narrative, and storyboard work for animation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop storyboards for animated series, feature films, digital content, and other 2D animation projects.
  • Translate scripts into creative, clear, and engaging visual sequences that align with the project’s artistic vision and narrative direction.
  • Create shot compositions, camera movements, character poses, and performances that enhance emotional impact and storytelling.
  • Use Toon Boom Storyboard Pro as the primary tool for developing, organizing, and revising storyboard sequences.
  • Ensure visual consistency, narrative continuity, and clarity of action throughout each sequence.
  • Collaborate closely with the directing, writing, animation, and production teams throughout all stages of the project.
  • Participate in creative meetings, pitch presentations, and storyboard review sessions.
  • Revise and refine storyboard sequences efficiently by incorporating feedback from the director and artistic supervision.
  • Organize project files and assets according to the studio’s production pipeline.
  • Contribute creative ideas that strengthen storytelling, humor, action, and character performance.
  • Assist in planning the timing and visual pacing of sequences, providing a strong foundation for the subsequent stages of animation.

Cut-out animator

Remote / --

Responsibilities:

  • Animating the sequences assigned by the animation supervisor, respecting the style and quality of the
    animation and movements of the series.
  • Work with the team and supervisor to identify and resolve technical and artistic problems.
  • Work towards common production objectives, respecting the timetable.
  • Meet the production objectives while respecting the timetable.
  • Actively participate in team or production meetings.
  • Carry out their duties in a professional and positive manner.
  • Make adjustments and refinements according to the revisions given by the Director/Animation Supervisor,
    respecting the stipulated deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in producing TV series or animated films.
  • Good understanding of the principles of traditional 2D animation.
  • Ability to work with Harmony software.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environmentAbility to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience in acting, lip-syncing and body physics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of the Harmony rigging tool an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the cut-out animation production chain, an advantage.
  • Openness to direction and ability to accept change.
  • Ability to work alone and in collaboration, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure.

2D Layout Artist

Remote / Senior

Responsibilities:

  • The layout artist works under the guidance of the layout supervisor to complete all layouts from
    storyboards, maintaining the performance and staging of the panels.
  • Use location drawings as a reference to design all layouts for assigned shots and collaborate with the
    layout supervisor to make revisions and other changes.
  • Assist in the concept creation of environment layouts to fit the approved style of the series.
  • Draft, design and produce high quality location design.
  • Maintain the style and execution of sets in accordance with production requirements.
  • Use knowledge and skills to reinforce the visual language of the series.
  • Support the team with corrections when necessary.
  • Finalize and clean up designs using Photoshop.
  • Work efficiently and within the established workflow.

Requirements:

  • Great sense of perspective and composition.
  • Proficient experience in Photoshop software.
  • Ability to speak French and English in a professional environment, as the Layout Supervisor and Art Direction are mostly English-speaking.
